The Three Ponds became part of the Maribor Park with arrangements in the 1980s. In the past, the ponds were a water reserve for the city’s defense – ditch. The picturesque area and the nearby park, offers visitors of the Three Ponds area relaxation and recreation. The ponds are man-made and filled with water from nearby streams. The level of all three ponds decreases from time to time due to the permeable bottom of the second pond.
